SURREAL

On a global Manhattan canvas,
Contrasted against a clear blue summer sky,
Two great Twin Towers beckon.
High symbols of strength, money, freedom and power.
In the distance, controlled technology in hand,
Free-willed madness streaks with rage through open space,
Striking in an instant of time.
At light speed, colours explode from some dark age of evil, anger and hate.
Cameras on streets and rooftops catch and record on cue,
The bursting red-hot fires of hell,
The powerful black weight of damnation,
Makes all tumble and bow down.
Grey, hot ashes and dust distort minds, shatter hearts and twist bodies.
Innocence and souls are lost.
Humanity grieves, rivers of tears gush as one,
And all ask, “For the Love of God”,
Why?
